1 - RESEARCH LINE IN NUTRITION AND PRODUCTION OF NON-RUMINANT ANIMALS
This line of research is focused on studies and research into productive responses, animal adaptation, bioclimatology, animal welfare and behavior of ruminants under different environmental conditions and breeding systems, especially in tropical conditions, as well as evaluating preservation and conservation programs for breeds of zootechnical interest threatened with extinction. The study also includes the evaluation of the nutritional value of concentrated foods and foods rich in fiber, in addition to additives and other products used in animal feed. It involves studies and research to evaluate nutritional requirements, feeding systems and conventional and alternative foods in various farming environments and their effects on different animal species. Evaluate the effects of diets on the quality of products and derivatives from ruminant animals, such as meat, milk, cheese, etc. Furthermore, it involves the use of technological research tools, such as artificial intelligence and others for studies and research focused on ruminant animals.

3 - RESEARCH LINE PRODUCTION, EVALUATION AND CONSERVATION OF FORAGE AND PASTURE PLANTS
This line of research develops studies to identify and study, in field and greenhouse work, native and exotic forage plants adapted to semiarid conditions and other environments, as well as cultivation and management techniques, capable of promoting increased productivity and sustainability of animal production systems. It covers research aimed at developing, improving and using techniques for the formation, management and recovery of pastures and grassland/cactus cladodes plantations, taking into account the soil-plant-animal trinomial, through studies related to nutrient cycling, N2 fixation, C balance, methane and CO2 production, environmental impacts and services, cultivation and management systems of native and cultivated pasture, as well as forage plants under cutting; in addition to integrated animal production systems and also studies with the various methods of conserving forage resources.
